At first glance, the changes may not look dramatic. That’s intentional. The Go series is designed to stay simple and affordable, while gradually improving the features people actually use in daily life, reading, light annotation, and basic note-taking.
Design: Familiar Look with Small Improvements
The overall design stays very close to the original Go 6. It remains lightweight, compact, and easy to carry around, but nothing here changes the identity of the device.
The updates are subtle:
- Slightly more comfortable grip on the back
- Lightweight body that still feels easy for one-handed reading
- Offer four color options: dark purple, white, grey, and yellow, to provide more choices.
Biggest Change: Now Supports Note-Taking
The main upgrade in the Gen II is the addition of handwriting and note-taking support. This changes how the device can be used:
- Stylus support for writing and sketching simple notes
- Built-in note-taking app for quick ideas and lists
- Ability to annotate PDFs and reading materials
BOOX has intentionally brought note-taking support to the Go lineup. The Go 6 Gen II series, Go 7 series, and Go 10.3 Gen II series all support handwriting. The stylus is also universal across these models, meaning you can use the same InkSense Plus stylus across the entire Go series.
The BOOX Go 6 (Gen II) is not a completely new device, it is a carefully optimized evolution of the original Go 6. Rather than changing the core identity, BOOX focused on:
- Note-taking
- Better display clarity
- More color choices
